What is royal jelly?

Royal Jelly is a treasure from nature, rich in nutrients and energy, that bees segregate to feed their larvae for 3 days and the queen bee throughout her entire life.

It is a nacreous white viscous product with a slightly sweet acid flavour. It is composed by 12 -13 % protein, 12-15 % carbohydrates, 5-6 % lipids, including the most important fatty acids, and the full range of vitamins.

HDA or 10-hidroxy-2-decanoic acid

HDA is an organic acid present in royal jelly that acts as a biochemical marker indicating the freshness and biological power or efficacy of Royal Jelly.

Therefore, fresh royal jelly is a high nutritional valued food that provides several health beneficial effects as long as it contains 2 % HDA.
